CLUB NOTES

Feb 8 2021

Notification for the Club’s 2020 Annual General Meeting which will be held virtually on Wednesday evening 10 February has now issued to members.  All fully paid up full members are urged to attend.  If any members haven’t received an official notification, please get in touch with the Secretary.

A reminder again that the Clubhouse and grounds remain closed until further notice due to Covid restrictions.  Entry to the Clubhouse is not permitted under any circumstances.

The all-weather pitch is also closed, and we would ask those who currently climb over or under the gate into the club grounds not to do so.  They are putting themselves and the community at risk.

Meanwhile, no training for underage or adult teams is permitted.  Individual training only is permitted, and it is good to see many of our members doing so out around Glenaulin and Palmerstown generally these last few weeks.

GAA National Club Draw Tickets are now on sale.  100% of all sales generated by the club are retained by the club.  The Draw has now been pushed back to 4 June, 2021, so plenty of time to buy your tickets which are available from Eileen Maguire.  Eileen can be contacted on 087 7814852.

Thanks again to all our sponsors – Moriarty’s SuperValu, Palmerstown House, Manor Hair Studio, Haven Pharmacy, Palmerstown Credit Union, Doorfix and Intel.

The closing date for receipt of nominations to the executive committee and motions for the AGM is by 5pm this Wednesday 20 January.  We would encourage members to come forward and help out in the year ahead.  While there is plenty to do, it is made easier if more people become involved, whether it is on the playing and coaching side of things or helping out in some way with club administration, development or fundraising.  All are welcome.

Meanwhile, preparations are under way for when we are allowed to resume training and playing games again.  As things stand, team entries for football, hurling and camógie are being submitted to the County Board and fixtures are being drawn up.  Team managers and mentors will soon be making arrangements for a return to training when circumstances allow.  Obviously, we will be guided by the GAA and Public Health advice as to when this can happen.

Until then, the Clubhouse and grounds remain closed until further notice due to Covid restrictions.  No training for underage or adult teams is permitted.  Individual training only is permitted.

The All-Weather pitch is also closed and not to be used under any circumstances.

Welcome to the first club notes of the new year.  Hopefully, better times ahead for everyone and we can look forward to a resumption of sporting activity in the not too distant future.  In the meantime, we would ask members to stay safe, adhere to the public health guidance, and continue to look out for each other.

A reminder again that the Clubhouse and grounds remain closed until further notice due to Covid restrictions.  No training for underage or adult teams is permitted.  Individual training only is permitted.

The Club Lotto is also suspended for the moment.   As indicated previously, all tickets for the weekend draw due to be held on 3 January remain valid and will be held securely until such time as we can safely resume again.   A further update will issue in due course.
